I, Velchala Rajender Rao, have decided to dedicate myself to the people of Karimnagar. The land where I was born and spent my entire life along with my family serving the people. I am deeply indebted to the love and affection of people of Karimnagar.

I believe our country needs change. Change from the autocratic and ruthless practices of the incumbent government which is methodically breaking the back of democracy in India. I firmly endorse the values and ideals of the Congress Party and truly believe it is the only party that can help save our democracy.

As with every election, parties and individuals propose short term, medium term and long term promises to the people for their welfare and development. If the party wins, they strive to make their promises a reality.

Apart from the proposed party plan, I also want to propose my personal action plan before the people of Karimnagar. I promise on God and my family that I will make continuous efforts to implement it. The things I plan to do will prove my dedication to the betterment and development of my people.

I hope I have your support and blessings for this unique endeavour of mine which will go a long way in making Karimnagar a one of kind region in the country.

My father, Velichala Jagapati Rao lived all his life with the Karimnagar people in his heart. His political achievements are many.

In 1972, when he won as MLA for the first time from Jagitial, 121 villages out of 138 villages in his constituency did not have electricity supply, but in 1977, 100% electricity supply facility was provided to all the villages. Such development did not happen anywhere in the whole of Andhra Pradesh. In fact, this did not happen even in the Chief Minister's constituency. It was a success greatly appreciated by everyone.

He created jobs for 2000 people during 1972-1978 when he was the Chairman of Markfed. This is one of the biggest achievements in the 60-year history of Markfed.

Fresh water supply scheme for Karimnagar - In 1989, he won as an independent MLA from Karimnagar and provided drinking water facility to Karimnagar in a way that was both pioneering and everlasting. Since the last 40 years, the town of Karimnagar has been thriving due to the water supply project he envisioned and executed. Even today, Karimnagar continues to mourn for the sacrifices he made.
